The Energy Complexity Problem

With the increasing adoption of AI, EV, and other power hungry applications, access to energy is at a premium. Accounting for disparate loads, energy storage, onsite power generation, demand response and grid arbitrage strategies creates a complex problem for both addressing current needs and planning for the future.

Hydrel’s software suite addresses and simplifies these problems while opening a pathway to realizing and monetizing your energy expansion projects.

We are the intelligence layer for your energy systems.

Design with a Digital Twin

Hydrel works closely with our customers to develop detailed and accurate “digital twins” for the target site. Simulating load profiles based on real-world data, building response strategies for key events, capturing site economics, and building a timeline-based project schedule for site expansions.

Optimize with Real-Time Control

Our unified control layer connects on-site generation, energy storage assets, loads, and grid interactions to optimize new deployments and existing infrastructure for site economics, energy resiliency, and decarbonization efforts.

How It Works

Step 1: Energy Consultation

Data driven and goal orientated engagement to determine current and future energy needs. Initial analysis of costs, site constraints & resources, identify project success criteria, and economic goals. Highlight technology that best fits the site requirements and provides avenues for future expansion. Hydrel is energy-source agnostic with a preference for providing a pathway to carbon neutral technology while monetizing the transition when available.

Step 2: Site Modeling

Development of a “Digital Twin” for your target sites. Simulate the existing and future loads, storage, and energy suppliers for the site down to the individual load level, utilizing real-world data. Use our manual tools to model various expansion roll-out strategies over long periods of time, or utilize our in-house AI tools to identify optimal strategies based on selectable criteria. Model emergency and demand response priorities. Build long term economic models and forecasts.

Step 3: Deployment

Work with Hydrel to build your site resources, utilizing our equipment manufacturer and EPC partner network. Simplify your operations and build additional value by allowing Hydrel to manage your fuel supply and byproduct offtake agreements, leveraging economy of scale to deliver most advantageous pricing.

Step 3: Site Management

Hydrel’s site controller will be deployed to collect and interpret real-time data across multiple protocols, including BACnet, KNX, IEEE 2030.5, Modbus, DNP3, Open ADR, OCPP, IEC 61850, and others. Monitor, control, and manage your energy assets. Change strategies on-the-fly to reflect current and future conditions, utilizing models build in our “Digital Twin” environment.
